Welcome to another edition of theme park news! Disney experiences have generated a lot of excitement with the arrival of the end-of-year holidays, a major transformation nearing completion at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, as well as the arrival of a brand new cruise ship. I know, I know, cruises aren’t the same as theme parks, but we’ve seen a lot of crossover when it comes to the beloved theme park storytelling that makes its way onto Disney Cruise Line ships! Before my trip aboard the Disney Destiny, I wanted to keep everyone up to date with the latest news in case you have an upcoming trip planned in November!

Disney Destiny Arrives in Florida Ahead of Preview Cruises and Maiden Voyage

We are only a few weeks away from the official maiden voyage of Disney Cruise Line newest ship, the Disney Destiny! She recently completed her Atlantic crossing and arrived in Florida, where extensive preview sailings are now taking place ahead of the maiden voyage, which will launch on November 20.

It was also announced this week that Disney Cruise Line will return to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a Destiny inspired float! The float will be accompanied by characters featured on Disney Destiny, including Hercules, Cruella De Vil and more! Concept art for the tank was released along with the announcement:

Zootopia: Better Zoogether opens at Dinsey’s Animal Kingdom

New deals continue to come online at Walt Disney World outside of seasonal deals. After a period of previews from Cast Members, media and some guests, Zootopia: a better Zoogether has officially opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Zootopia: Better Zoogether opens just in time for the arrival of Zootopia 2, in theaters November 26. To celebrate the film and to accompany the new show at Animal Kingdom, guests can meet Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps on Discovery Island.

Zootopia: Better Zoogether occurs in the Tree of Life Theater, the former home of It’s Tough to Be A Bug. The show will take place continuously throughout the day.

The Holiday Season Returns to Walt Disney World

The holidays are now in full swing at Disney World with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party hosting its first event last night (November 7) and Disney Jollywood Nights I’ll come back this evening. After hours parties will take place on select evenings until December 21 and 22 respectively.

Features of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nearly 40 new food products this year according to Disney Parks Blog. While some of these items are available to Magic Kingdom day guests, the majority are exclusive to party attendees. New menu items are also available at Disney Jollywood Nights this year.

Disney Jollywood Nights also offers new offers this year, including meet and greets of rare characters including Partysaurus Rex and Life Day Chewbacca.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa Lobby Transformation Nearly Complete

Major changes have taken place in and around the entrance hall of the Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Overall, the lobby space has undergone a major refresh with “bright and inviting updates» in the form of brand new carpet, an updated stained glass skylight, new furniture and much more.

The perchthe newly revealed name of lobby bar built to resemble the old birdcage that existed at the Grand Floridian, has soft open November 8. A official opening date November 10 was announced this week.

That’s not all! The Garden View Lounge will finally reopen its doors in early 2026 with a refreshed look that complements the new lobby design. The living room with a view of the garden will offer “a new tea experience” with whimsical Disney touches for guests of all ages (more details to come).

• A new wedding venue is coming to Disney Cruise Line! THE Haunted Mansion Lounge aboard Disney Destiny will be an official place to say “I do” from May 14, 2026. The place can accommodate up to 25 guests.
• Ahead of Disney California Adventure Holiday Festival Back on November 14, Disney released a comprehensive dining guide with menu items available for purchase. The Holiday Festival will take place daily at California Adventure until January 7, 2026.
• Looking ahead to 2026, Disney World has released the full concert schedule for the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Seriestaking place during the EPCOT International Arts Festival! The festival returns January 16 – February 23, 2026. Mark your calendars with the following concerts at the American Gardens Theater:
