This suburb of Raleigh is one of the hottest destinations for families at the moment
Raleigh, in North Carolina, has a moment at the moment – the one who puts families in the foreground and continues to gain the national influence of the city, including a place on our list of the best American destinations on vacation with children.
The central location of the city on the East Coast, halfway between Florida and New York, made beautiful trips on the road and fast flights. The ease of accessibility continues once you also arrive, with the suburbs and the most sought -after attractions apparently 15 minutes by car. This is the number we continued during a recent trip to Cary, whenever we ask a room how long it would take to reach a place that we wanted to visit. And it was true.
Sand secrets: 10 Best family beaches in North Carolina
Less than 15 minutes by car from Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Cary is a flourishing district for families, in effervescence with one of the coolest parks I have ever seen and a city center easily accessible on foot sprinkled with charming buildings and fashionable restaurants. Cary is the hot spot with regard to Raleigh’s attractions for family fun, and its diverse range of offers has something for each age.
What to do:
Downtown Cary Park

Seven acres of lush green space are dedicated to downtown Cary Park. You will find playgrounds on the theme of tentacular woods which are modern and carefully designed, with sections for different age groups. There are also slides, rock walls and other obstacles adapted to children built in a hill. A Skywalk trail winds on a lake and along a fragrant botanical garden. The other spaces integrated into the natural setting include a pavilion that hosts occasional events, a large lawn and water fountains.
Mordeous Museum Museum
My children aged four and two would have spent the whole day at the Museum of Martable Children, if we leave them. The thematic exhibitions give way to learning, play and discovery. They include imagifab for small inventors, with a section for the constituent elements of all shapes and sizes, as well as an interactive drawing room which gives life to the creations of children on the big screen; MoneyPalooza, where a playground and a series of activity stations highlight the importance of healthy expenses; and an interior-exterior section centered around the plant, fruits and vegetable growth process.
Botanical gardens

One of my favorite places to take my children wherever we travel is a botanical garden. These are nature playgrounds, an inspiring imaginative game and an exploration. There are several botanical gardens around “The Triangle”, a nickname for Raleigh and its neighboring academic cities, and they are free to enjoy. The JC Raulston Arboretum of Raleigh and the Botanical Garden of Caroline du Nord, a little further, are our favorites. The two offer many fields for families to wander as well as to the spaces for dedicated children.
Museum of Life and Science
Nature continues to prepare the field for learning, in this museum of unique sciences spread over 84 acres. Children can dig for fossils on the Dinosaur trail, get closer to the fauna of North Carolina, absorb the landscape of an old train, ignite their sense of wonder on the field of the mist, and more. Two hectares are dedicated to refuge woods, where you will find tree huts (including some designed for smaller visitors), a paddling stream and play areas inspired by nature.
Producer
In this amusement park par excellence, families will find enough activities to entertain children for hours. The legendary past of Pullen Park is also part of his pace. Created in 1887, this 66.4 acres bench comprising Raleigh attractions for family fun is not only the first Public Park in North Carolina, but also the fifth oldest American amusement park and the 16th older in the world. The historical characteristics include its carousel built in 1911 and the Pullen Park Caboose, an authentic Norfolk Southern Railway train car. Families can also enjoy rides on a vintage mini style train, pleasure navigation and various playgrounds.
Where to stay:
Maytontoon

Nestled next to downtown Cary Park, Mayton guests are spoiling easy accessibility to leisure, catering and entertainment of the city. Forty-four clearly designed rooms and suites are intended for families with an area higher than average, and packaging and games are available on request. Meanwhile, the restaurant on site with a spacious outdoor terrace treats children from the devoted menus. The service all around feels very “small town” and staff, and the property is fully exploited in the local culture.
The package of the cinema evening in the city center of Mayton creates the perfect release for families to benefit from the series of night films in the park. Complete with a comfortable picnic cover, and cookies and popcorn organized in local businesses, the package offers the ideal means to enjoy films like “Moana 2” and “Shrek” under the stars. The other advantages of the package include a breakfast credit of $ 15 per person, per night, as well as prices at reduced prices.
