The family holidays that I transformed into retreat from DIY Health Spa
While my family sleeps peacefully, I slip into my gym clothes and on tiptoe in the hot morning, walking along the Caribbean seaside path to the Palapa fitness for morning yoga. After the lessons, I meet my children and my husband at the outdoor restaurant by the sea. I head to the fresh bar and look at the chef press me a pineapple juice, ginger, lemon and celery (better than I seem, I swear). After breakfast, it is off for a float in the ocean, a lunch of grilled fish and vegetarian tacos and a happy massage. And suddenly, it is at the end of the afternoon, it is time for another swim and then the sunset.

Although I have large aspirations, I have never reached a real well-being spa. As much as I want (really, in fact), I want to wake up with dawn for an aerobic hike followed by stretching, eating boiled quinoa and hot lemon water for breakfast, obtaining body scrubs and mineral wraps, and sweat it in the sauna, whenever I look at the cost of a well-being spa ($ 1000) by the shock of the sticker.
But three days after the spring holidays at Club Med Cancun with my family, I realized: I accidentally fell into a wellness spa escape. At a cost fraction, the complex has all the elements – adjustment courses, healthy foods (as well as less healthy foods), many ways to relax and a spa – I want to get out of a health spa experience, all wrapped like a family seaside resort.

Once I realize that I have a dream of DIY health spa, I make additional efforts to preserve the illusion. I eat a little healthier, I make a little more room to relax and notice that I feel a little stronger at the end of each fitness course. I fall deep at the end of each day, exhausted by fresh air and exercise, and I get up easily every morning.
Around the world: 9 best club complexes for all types of vacation
A real health spa would be a hilarious place to spend a vacation with my family – my teenager just wants endless burritos and swimming pool time and my tween would be in facials but are reluctant to the early awakening and fries without French.

But in this version of my vacation at the spa, everyone gets what they want. Children roam the complex with the Teen Club, zooming in water shots, playing large hide-and-seek games, and going with new friends in archery and trapeze. My husband dwells on his coffee by the sea, goes to the gymnasium for solo training (he is not with the idea of doing exercise with others), and reads the swimming pool.
First -time advice: How to prepare for a club med

The French MED Club Okay maintains our interesting time together. Every evening at 9 am, there is a dancing evening, sometimes with people disguised as giant robots. My daughter and I are on the dance floor every night, learning the stages and laughing together. One evening, we go back to the beach at sunset, sipping drinks and dancing in a set of DJ; And every evening, capture a new performance featuring folklore dancers, contortionists, acrobats, aerials, etc.

At the end of the week, I feel more relaxed than I never did on other family vacation. And when I go home, it is easier to transfer healthy (mainly) healthy habits than I practiced all week. Rather than falling into my usual slowdown at the gym, be it the post-voyage-jetlag routine after the Jetlag, I manage to weave a little more exercise, relaxation and healthy food in my chaotic life, and notice that these moments look a little more like a vacation than before.
