8 ‘Secrets’ to make the most of your day in the celebration key to Carnival Cruise Line

The Secret’s Out: Families sailing with Carnival Cruise Line can now visit the Key Celebration, the new private island on the line extending to more than 65 miles to the south of the island of Grand Bahama. If your route includes a stop there, you may have already read its countless attractions for families, including a huge lagoon of fresh water and a dedicated strip of white sandy beach.

As one of the first passengers to visit the island for its great opening, I was equally excited and overwhelmed by the quantity to be made. (Spoiler alert: you won’t have time to do everything.) It also let me ask me: how could I maximize my time on the island, and what ways I can stretch my wallet?

With inclusions ranging from the Lagoon Starfish and Starfish Beach friendly (with free loungers and parasols), the splashing cushion and the Guppy Grotto wading and meals from a collection of restaurants and fast restaurants. But there are follies to do, if your budget allows.

I took the arduous task of spending a day on the island, to find advice on how families can get the most out of their time and find out about certain economic secrets.

1. Be one of the first to get off the ship.

You will not want to sleep the day your ship breaks to the celebration key. Being one of the first passengers on the ground will give you dibs on the best lounge chairs. This will also mean shorter lines for attractions such as Suncastle slides. Restaurants are starting to open at 11 a.m., so expect the crowd to increase at that time.

2. Eat before getting off the ship.

Thanks to the program of EATS Island, cruisers have essentially their choice of complementary specialized restaurants and very well at Celebration Key. Here is how it works: each passenger receives a “credit” which results in a free meal in the catering room or a handful of catering trucks. The other option is to have dinner in a full -service restaurant, where adults can exchange their credit for 25% discount on an entry, and children eat for free. Given that everyone is entitled to only one meal, I suggest filling in a generous breakfast before going to the ground and making snacks if you can. In this way, you did not spend more money for a second meal when hunger strikes later in the day.

3. First head to the swimming pool, then on the beach.

Access to a perfect beach, reserved only for you and your colleagues, is one of the most attractive advantages of the visit of a private island. But in general, this is where many people start their days. My advice is always to go to the swimming pool in the morning; Then go to the beach around lunch time. At this point, the Starfish lagoon will be packed, and you should be able to enjoy a quieter beach time.

4. Book of tickets for Suncastle water shots in advance.

To control the lines and the crowd flow, Carnival offers only a limited number of tickets to mount Suncastle slides. They sell quickly, so hang them before leaving on the island to guarantee your place. Tickets cost $ 15 per person and you can drive as many times as you want. (Note: cyclists must be a minimum height of 40 inches high. In addition, the slides involve several periods of complete darkness, so keep this in mind when you decide whether your child will benefit or not before spending money.)

5. If you make follies, do it on a cabin (PSST: unlimited water shift walks are included).

The huts of the old

The reservation of a hut or a “superville” on the celebration key gives families access to a multitude of value -added advantages. These vary depending on the one you choose, but all include a cooler with refrigerated water, fresh fruit and snacks, locking cabinets (lockers cost an additional one) and unlimited walks on criminal slides. (Note: floating and inflated aquabanas are delivered with tickets for slides but not other standard hut inclusions.)

6. Save even more money by how you wrap your beach bag.

Aside from usual beach accessories such as sunscreen, hats and sunglasses, passengers will have to bring their ship’s beach towels. (Only those from the Pearl Cove Beach Club receive free additional towels.) I also always recommend packing your own swimming masks and diving equipment with snorkel, to avoid paying rental fees, which are $ 20 per set on the celebration key.

7. Be strategic on the lounge chairs you choose.

The island is huge. It has also been carefully designed for families, keeping almost everything they might want and need the east side. However, he could take at least 10 minutes to walk from the swimming pool to the beach, or vice versa. This means that you want to relax wherever you plan to spend most of the day. For example, if you have small ones, claim chairs near the splash cushion. This will put you a few steps from one of the many shallow and shallow user -friendly areas of the lagoon, as well as a short walk from the pier and the beach.

8. Bring your credit or debit card if you plan to go shopping.

More than 25 owners of local businesses have teamed up with Carnival to sell their goods on the island. Make sure you take your credit or your debit card on the ground if you plan to shop, because some of them will not accept your sailing and signaling card. Note: ATM machines are available on the island.
